Since winning their franchise in 1996, Chiltern Railways has run scheduled passenger services along the M40 corridor between London Marylebone and Birmingham Snow Hill and London Marylebone to Aylesbury along the London Underground Metropolitan line. In 2002 Chiltern Railways extended their operations as far as Kidderminster and in 2004 they took over all rail services between London and Stratford-upon-Avon.

As one of the franchises forming the UK's National Rail network, Chiltern Railways are dedicated to providing passengers with a reliable, welcoming and value for money service which offers them real choice and a viable alternative to other modes of transport.

Since 1996, Chiltern Railways has invested well over £400 million to improve the railway and they now carry more than twice the number of passengers they did ten years ago, with a fleet that's also doubled in size.

SUSTAiN provides support services to charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, faith organisations, social enterprises and any other ‘not for personal profit’ organisations that operate for the benefit of people in Solihull. Much of this provision is free.

In addition, SUSTAiN is looking to the future to make sure that the conditions are right for the long term sustainability of voluntary organisations in Solihull - hence the name - this includes securing alternative sources of income such as building an asset base and developing social enterprises. SUSTAiN exists to make sure that the views of charities, community groups and other types of voluntary organisations are heard.
